What is the Minor Operations Clinic? 

Our Minor Operations Clinic is a specialist service offering a wide range of minor surgical procedures that can be safely performed in the community, without the need for a hospital visit. All procedures are carried out under local anaesthetic by experienced Tui Medical doctors in fully equipped procedure rooms. This includes skin cancer surgery - such as the removal of Basal Cell Carcinomas (BCCs) and Squamous Cell Carcinomas (SCCs) - as well as many other common surgical needs. Our clinics provides timely, accessible care that gets you the treatment you need, close to home.

Our services include:

  • Skin cancer surgery - excision of BCCs, SCCs, and melanoma

  • Mole and lesion removal

  • Cyst removal (sebaceous and epidermoid)

  • Skin tag removal

  • Lipoma excision

  • Ingrown toenail surgery (partial or total nail avulsion)

  • Wart and skin lesion treatment with cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen)

  • Steroid injections

  • Other common minor surgical procedures

Our Approach

Our doctors follow evidence-based guidelines and work closely with plastic surgeons and other specialists when cases require additional expertise. Tissue removed during procedures is sent for laboratory analysis where appropriate, and results are communicated to you promptly.

Patient education is a priority - we take time to explain your diagnosis, the procedure, and what to expect during recovery.

When to seek help

If you have a skin lesion, lump, or other concern that may require a minor procedure, your first step is to book a standard GP appointment. Your doctor will assess you and arrange a procedure if suitable. For suspicious skin lesions or possible skin cancers, early assessment is important - please don't wait. If your condition requires specialist or hospital-level care, we will refer you promptly to the right team.

Accessing this service

You can access our Minor Operations Clinic through a referral from your Tui Medical GP or via our Urgent Care service. Procedures are by appointment and are booked following an initial consultation. ACC claims can be lodged in-clinic for eligible injury-related procedures.
